Cutting Class Keli Chaffin Magenta Periwinkle Books
This was one of the most disappointing books I've read. The story itself was so intriguing and had so much potential but the execution wasn't what it could have been.I guess my biggest problem is the dialogue. People speak in contractions, but through this whole book nobody says anything that sounds even slightly natural. Considering that dialogue plays a huge role in this book, that was a major let down. Not to mention there were many spelling and grammar errors, a few that I had to read over a couple times just to make sense of what they were trying to say.
All in all this book was okay, but a real let-down from what it could have been.

Cutting Class Keli Chaffin Magenta Periwinkle Books Reviews
This book could have been written with greater detail, I wanted to know and understand the character's better...it's a book for middle school age kids, the was a lot of times when tee I wanted a better description of what was happening, to often the writer left me wondering.
Was there not an editor available to check for grammatical errors? They are everywhere and kind of distracting. The story itself was good and unexpected but I felt a little cheated at the end. An epilogue to know where Pixie and J.B. ended up maybe? Just a personal preference.
The premise for this book is decent, but it is horribly executed. I have no idea how this draft was published. If there was any editor involved they need to find a new calling as there are a multitude of spelling, grammar, punctuation and any other kind errors you can imagine.
Also the ending is extremely lack-luster. The book just ends. There is no substantial resolution of any kind.
I really liked this book, but good LORD does it ever need an editor. Or even just a proof-reader. Full of run-on sentences, and the way things are worded makes it a little hard to understand at first sometimes. The story line was great but the writing was not.
I suffered / suffer with depression for a long time now, and i'm only 14. This book is extremely amazing and I just couldn't stop reading it. One of the best books ever. If you cut, suffer from depression etc.. This book really understands you. And for 99 cents it's a good buy. I SO recommend it.
It's an interesting premise with a nice plot twist, but it's difficult to get past the uneven writing. Editing was apparently nonexistent as the spelling and grammatical errors are prolific and a distraction to reading. The author should keep writing, as the idea was a good one, but will want to seek assistance from an editor for future endeavors.
I really did enjoy the book but I thought it took a bit too long to really get through an exposition and the changing format of the story telling makes it even more confusing. the writing appeared to be nearly unedited which was a major detractor. but the major plot twists kept me entertained late into the pages and expected more to come every second from unexpected places.
overall 4/5
writing/style 2/5
storytelling and plot 5/5
