Audrey Wickersham, like many fifteen (almost sixteen) year olds, doesn't feel like she quite fits in. Written from the lighthearted, sarcastic point of view of a teenager, Who is Audrey Wickersham is a coming of age story with a paranormal twist. She is searching for herself while fighting against a curse she did nothing to deserve. No sooner does she begin to think that she may understand where her life is headed, she is thrown another curve ball. However she knows her loving (very protective) father- affectionately known as Hulk- will always be by her side. Along with Bruce the drama queen babysitter, Agnes the gypsy from The Magick Eye, and Kirk the handsome friend with a secret of his own, Audrey's support team is a big dysfunctional family that functions exactly the way she needs it to. It is a wonderfully written relationship shared by these characters, each facing a challenge of their own during Audrey's ordeal.

From first kiss to first kill, Sara Shrieves allows us to travel with Audrey as she faces the everyday challenges of becoming a woman, along with some more unnatural urges. Shrieves captures that awkward time in our lives with sincerity and authenticity.

A great YA novel for teenagers who are looking for a more mature read. There are a few uses of four- letter words but nothing a fifteen year old would not hear or say. There are no sexual situations to address and the violence is not gratuitous, but just what is needed to describe the scene. I feel this would be a great book for a teenager who may not be interested in traditional YA novels and for anyone looking for a new take on a zombie story. It is certainly worth more than its $0.99 price. I hope to see more from Ms. Shrieves, perhaps another teen facing a supernatural challenge and maybe more from Audrey.

The story of Audrey was a great take on the usual zombie and vampire stories. I feel like it had a good pace with introducing the characters, and keeping the story interesting. I kept waiting for her father to be one sort of supernatural as well! )

I would love to read more about Audrey and Kirk!
Just finished this book. I know it is geared toward the teenage set, but I'm a 61 year old reader of all sorts of books from Michael Connelly to great literature and history and I REALLY enjoyed this one. The book is a page turner - you always want to know what is going to happen to the heroine next. The characters are fun to follow and the dialogue is sharp and witty. What I liked most about the heroine was her resilience to just bounce back and take on any mishap (some VERY life threatening) and keep battling. Also this author does not follow with any cliche plot turns. There are a number of suprises I did not see coming at all. Folks, take a chance on this one.
I do not like Zombie reads or movies..I cant stand the thought of reading/watching someone eating someone elses brains.

BUT...

This was an awesomely fun read. I couldnt put it down and the fact that Audry feels the same way about eating brains..is even funnier.

I really hope that there are several of these novels. I would recommend this to anyone who doesnt like zombie stuff..
I knew from the instant I saw this cover I had to read it! It had everything I would ever want in a book.... (zombies, witches, vampires, an epic gay man, and humor) I loved how zombies and vampires come together in this story, giving the paranormal genre a refreshing change. My favorite part about this book was the humor, at many parts I caught myself laughing out loud or giggling to myself. (I'm pretty sure people thought I was nuts) I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick, humorous read filled with all things paranormal.

However the ending disappointed me. It was so abrupt that I was sure that some chapters were missing, but that was not the case. This book has so much potential and am pleased to hear that a sequel is in the works! I really want to know what happens to Audrey and see how she adapts to her new change!
